The Age 50 & Above Crowd

Oftentimes it becomes necessary to liquidate an entire houseful of belongings as we move on, or perhaps settle our parents' affairs. This type of sale is often utilized in the event of  downsizing, moving, divorce, bankruptcy, or death.  Where do we turn? The answer could be an estate sale.

Because an estate sale is completely handled by a professional company, the burden is taken off the shoulders of the homeowners or sellers. A good estate sale company will handle all the cleaning, organizing, pricing of items, and the sale itself. At the close of the sale they will normally donate or discard unsold items, and clean-sweep the home.

There are a number of estate sale companies in our area. Having worked with a few of them, I've seen how they operate and what they have to offer. I won't mention here the ones that I'd advise you to run from, but I'll share two that will do an excellent job for you:

1.) South Hills Antiques and Estate Sales - Anita Sassounian - phone: 626-806-6633 - email:   website: coming soon.   This company will price and prepare your estate sale, manage it, and clean up afterwards. They will also handle deep cleaning the home, trash removal, hazardous waste removal, debris removal. They also operate a moving company, City of Angels Moving, and can recommend such service providers as carpet cleaning. With many years of experience in the industry, and a fine reputation, they are an excellent choice.

2.) Appraisers-Estate Liquidation & Sales - David Baiz - phone: 626- 967-6483 or 626-422-8649 - email: - websiteLike the company listed above, this company is also appraiser-based, and as appraisers, they can find hidden treasures that many other typical "estate sale" companies miss. Their huge network of buyers are a plus to any seller. This company has also done good work for my clients. You can find out more about this company by visiting their website.
