The Age 50 & Above Crowd
Most of us are familiar with the old "nursing home" or "convalescent center" - the only place once available for the elderly. In the 1970s, housing for seniors began evolving. Today retirement centers are more the norm, and involve a much more diverse range of both age and health situations.
Retirement communities offer a wide range of living arrangements from single family homes, cottages, duplexes, and apartments. Within one community you might find all these choices as well as independent living, assisted living and continuous care facilities. A variety of activities may be available as well.
There are many senior communities in our area. My favorite is Hillcrest Retirement Community in La Verne. You can find out more about them by visiting their website here.
